About Me

Hello! I'm Adalyn Matteis, a 17-year-old artist from Windsor-Essex County with a focus on realism.

I can’t remember a time when art wasn’t part of my life—I was always the kid drawing on napkins at restaurants, and my dad’s office walls were covered in Harry Potter fan art.

In elementary school, I learned to use watercolours from a local artist, but it was discovering hyperrealistic drawing that truly captivated me—the idea that pencil on paper could be mistaken for a photograph seemed like magic.

Over the past few years, I’ve dedicated myself to mastering coloured pencil realism while also exploring other media such as ink and oil paint.

Since I began selling my work in June 2020, I’ve had the privilege of showing my art in several galleries and exhibitions, including Walkerville’s well-loved Art in the Park. I’ve also been able to donate a portion of my proceeds to causes close to my heart, including the World Wildlife Fund.

With the support of family and friends—and a deep-rooted love for the visual arts—I’m excited to see how my work continues to grow and evolve.
